The power and capital behind auto mfgrs, the transport industry, E&P companies, let alone all the investment banks that have trillions riding on the aforementioned heavily eclipses the puny squeaky wheels that are the ecotard movement

Very true, although I might add that the (Western) gvts have an extremely heavy reliance in these sectors to fill the coffers with tax dollars.
