A soldier fainted earlier today during rehearsals for the King's first Trooping the Colour on what has been the hottest day of the year so far in Britain. As help came to him, you can see another soldier being stretchered away in the background.

This will be the King's first Trooping the Colour, which celebrates the monarch's Official Birthday, which isn't necessarily on their actual birthday.

Queen Elizabeth II's Official Birthday was the second Saturday in June, whereas King Charles III's Official Birthday is to be on the third Saturday in June, with the first of his reign to take place next Saturday 17th June. As usual these days Trooping the Colour will be shown live on national TV.

Prince William - Prince of Wales, heir to the Throne and Colonel of the Welsh Guards - carried out the Colonel's Review on London's Horse Guards Parade today during rehearsals for the King's Birthday Parade, also known as Trooping the Colour.

The King's Official Birthday is to be on the third Saturday of every June (Elizabeth II's was the second Saturday of every June) so this year's Trooping the Colour - the first of Charles III's reign - will take place next Saturday.

Three soldiers fainted during the rehearsals as temperatures reached 86F.
