It's called a Warp Drive. Should be able to get there in an hour or 2.

For now. Apparently some space agencies (including NASA) are looking into it. Apparently it works in theory, but putting it into practice will probably be extremely difficult if not impossible.

Maybe its the other way around. If there is life there there isn't really any way to know what kind. Could be microscopic or it could be a civilization far more advanced than us. If its the latter it might be a good idea to keep a low profile.
