LONDON (Reuters) - A teen-ager whose teachers had stopped her wearing a "purity ring" at school to symbolize her commitment to virginity lost a High Court fight against the ban Monday.

I can't wrap my head around the notion of school with no jewelry. I can't imagine having to have gone to school without my engagement ring. Some things are such huge expressions of yourself, it seems odd to have to simply leave them at home.

Now don't get me wrong, I don't think they necessarily made the wrong decision, but I find the notion so far removed from my school experience.

Too bad the youngster didn't live in Canada!

In Canada, religious iconography is protected....we have Mounties wearing turbans....our Catholic Churches have paid millions for settlements of pedophilia.....while escaping prosecution.....

Yeah!

Let's decide who's rights take precedence....those who harm us and steal from us or those who teach us forgiveness and compassion while abusing men women and children....

Quite a conundrum isn't it?
