Why would Big Biz allow them to survive the 1990 crash. That would be when the west took over. Putin stopped the amount of profits that left the country. Nobody in the US is looking out for the welfare of the citizens.

They are buying them because they are cheap. Hopefully their money making strategies will succeed. What a huge profit loss it would be if they failed. "betting on U.S. steel is risky, say analysts." I wonder how much more steel assets they will buy in the future. "Russia has gone on an acquisition spree". This news article mentions that Russia can become stronger in the sense that they can make such bigger asset purchases. It certainly seems that USA and Russia are working together better compared to the other decades. Making large asset purchases is something that makes people appear so powerful.
