The Royal Navy is to rapidly enlarge its fleet of autonomous underwater drones
Britain's First Sea Lord and Chief of the Naval Staff Sir Gwyn Jenkins announces to the country that the Royal Navy is to launch its Atlantic Bastion programme to defend Britain's undersea cables and pipelines from the Russians and other would-be enemies.
The multi-million pound programme will combine autonomous underwater vehicles and AI with warships and aircraft to identify threats to Britain's underwater structure and to defend them.
Britain is busily strengthening her armed forces as Russia continues her war against Britain's ally Ukraine and the Russian bear continues to poke the sleeping British lion through various hostile acts against Britain, leading many people to fear that the two countries are about to start World War III.
In a recent poll conducted in several European countries, between 41% and 55% of respondents believed that we are on the brink of World War III as the British and Russians grow increasingly more belligerent towards each other.
