TORONTO - Lest we forget.
The TTC must have forgot!
Maybe you have noticed there are no more Lest We Forget flashing messages on the digital destination signs on the front, side and back of buses anymore.
“I am still in shock about it,” 25-year TTC bus driver Dugald Ranachan said. “My father (Andrew) was a veteran and I just don’t think it’s right.”
With Remembrance Day Sunday it’s been bothering him all week.
But it all came to a head for him Thursday while driving near Kipling station when an 88-year-old Second World War veteran boarded his bus.
“He asked me where was the remembrance message?” said Ranachan. “He said I should be ashamed of myself for not having it on my bus.”
Ranachan understood the veteran’s sentiment and tried to put on the message.
It didn’t work.
