I'd like to start cooking more and was just wondering if anyone had good recipes. I don't eat much meat and I enjoy spicy food.

Yay for recipes!!! I have a good recipe for hashbrown casserole if anyone is interested.

oh ya...I love east indian food. I like curry for breakfast :p They also have a store next to the restaurant. You can buy all sorts of spices, and east indian products. Its not best I have ever had tho. There is a good one in victoria called the taj mahal, very indian. the outside even looks like the taj mahal 8O every other one I have been to sucked.

So what is your favorite indian dish?

Here's a healthy snack for all you sweet tooth people out there.

Yogurt (not diet yogurt), real yogurt mixed with honey and if you want some crunch to it, add a couple of walnuts. Yum!

Yummy! Will substitute pecans, but sounds like a guilt free kind of snack. I'm a huge fan of the 8% yogurt ... thankfully my cholesterol is 142 so I get to indulge ;)

And with yogurt ... when making muffins (especially if you use the package mix stuff), add yogurt to the mix for even better muffins. I like to use flavoured yogurt with fruit chunks. :) Gotta remember to adjust liquid to compensate, though.

4 cups beef broth
shitload of beans if ya got em
3 big-ass onions
1 head garlic
6 pack of gud beer [schlitz,meisterbrau etc.]
bunch of dead critters [squirrel,possum,skunk,deer,cat,muskrat,dog]


debone the dead muther-humpers and boil in a big kettle

chug 2 of the beers

add the rest of the stuff

cook it

three mo' beers

keep kookin dummy

drink sum more

wut r you staring at...#$&*!!*?*@!!

There's not really a recipe- 2 cans of diced plum tomatoes, 1 smal can of Tomato paste, 2 large peppers, yellow or orange are the nicest, 2 large Jalapenos seeds in for HOT, seeds of 1 for med, no seeds for mild...2 handfuls of onions(I have small hands) some celery, cayenne pepper and paprika to taste, add water if you don't like thick. toss all into a pot, bring to a boil, and then simmer on low for about 3 hours, stirring occasionally. It makes about 6 cheese whiz jars full

Krauted Chicken Parmesan

2 pounds chicken cutlets
2 eggs, beaten
1 cup bread crumbs
1 14 oz can sauerkraut
1 15 ½ oz Tomato sauce
Oil
¼ teaspoon each oregano, sage, thyme and basil
1 ½ cups mozzarella cheese
¼ cup grated parmesan cheese

1. Pound chick until thin. Combine herbs and bread crumbs.
2. Dip chicken into eggs then into breadcrumbs.
3. Bake in 400-degree oven until done.
4. Pour sauce on top of chicken then cover with sauerkraut.
5. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and bake until heated in a 350-degree oven.
6. Top with Mozzarella and bake about 5 more minutes or until cheese is melted.

Squirrel Stew

Recipe Coments: Severed with biscuit for a hardy meal.

Recipe Instructions: Wash dressed squirrel thoroughly and dice into bite size peices. Combine vinegar, onion, salt, and pepper in deep container. Add squirrel and enough water to cover. Let stand 3 hours.

Remove squirrel and place in a roasting pan, brown in 375ºF oven. Add seasoned salt, celery leaves, carrots, and potatoes. Again cover with water. Cover pan and continue cooking until tender.


Ingredients:

2 squirrels

1 cup vinegar

1 onion, diced

3/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon pepper

1 1/2 season salt

leaves from 3 stalks celery

4 carrots, diced

4-12 red potatoes (depending on size)

Ingredients

* 250g carrot, washed, thinly sliced
* 1 tsp each of turmeric power, mustard powder and garlic
* 2 tbsp onions, chopped
* 50g tomatoes, chopped
* 1 cup thick coconut milk
* 1 srig curry leaves
* Salt to taste

Method

* Place spices, coconut milk and carrots in a pan and bring to a boil.
* Stir and simmer for about 10 minutes until carrot is soft. Add salt to taste.
* Remove from heat and serve hot

i reccomend all the mollie katzen books (moosewood particularly) and the wagamama cookbook.

Most of these recipes can be found online but i wouldn't suggest you break copyright laws.

Quick fast spicy rice

1/2 cup of 5 minute converted rice
1/2 cup of veggie stock
1/4 cup raisins or currants
1/2 tsp of curry powder
s&p to taste

2.5 minutes in nuker on high
add 1 tbsp of low fat margarine
stir in
let sit for 2.5 minutes

It's quick it's fast and it's hot. Turn up curry powder or pepper if you like spicier.
