Note - I just thought this was interesting stuff - I didn't intend a debate on creationism...

From that link, it says they have identified those genes which have undergone mutation in the past 15,000 years. They can also identify changes from a million+ years ago when we separated from the chimpanzee line.
The best example is that of lactose digestion. Only those populations that had domesticated cattle developed the lactose digestion gene. It is very much in evidence today, as we see populations that originated from specific areas of the world that cannot digest lactose.
quote from link:
"Human genes involved in metabolism, skin pigmentation, brain function and reproduction have evolved in response to recent environmental changes...
... [those are]genomic regions that evolution has favoured over the last 15,000 years or so – when modern humans dealt with the end of the last ice age, the beginning of agriculture, and increased population densities."
"adaptations in response to new diets and agriculture"
K - it shows that we are still growing up. We still have potential to adapt, to grow, and to change.
Lets hope it happens before we have destroyed the natural world. We could adapt to it, however, I don't want to adapt to a polluted world without natural sustaining systems we have allways known. Call me old fashioned I guess.
The destruction of the earth that we see now, which represents a destruction of our future, is a consequence of the fossil-fools who believe that humans have allready evolved so far that we cannot possibly make any big mistakes like global warming - "its all part of the plan and it will be fine, don't worry".
Those ones will become extinct soon, I hope, but they don't have any right to take us all down with them...
The one thing evolution needs is time, a future to evolve into. It won't happen, it all stops here, if we don't get this problem of envirnmental destruction solved. What a waste that would be - to lose the only known species of intelligent life in the universe , for the sake of profit for very few elites.
