Ok maybe I'm nuts but I live in BC in Pitt meadows-a lovely place not far from vancouver, but far enough. Anyways, the wife and i have come to the conclusion that if we want to own a house-we own a townhouse, we won't be able to here with the costs needed to support the debt which is astronomical.
We have come to the conclusion that Ontario may be the answer :roll:
We have looked at mls and are quite suprissed by the house costs and nice ones at that so close to TO. The other part of the equation is that my wife is from England and Ontario is in the middle for her family to visit and mine as well.
We quite like the port perry and uxbridge areas having visited 2 years ago. I can probably transfer with my job without to much hassle.
What I'd like is feedback about these 2 areas, both good & bad.

Absolutely a good idea although I was wondering how an Englishwoman managed to get into Canada but she married you so that answered my question.

There are many areas here in Ontario I am sure you can relocate to. Another nice area would be the Muskokas although that is considered cottage country. Thunder Bay is beautiful (the area) but the city itself is a joke so I guess that is out. Were I you Uxbridge would be the one for me.

My brother lives in Port Perry and loves it. It's small with some decent restaurants. If you like boating it's got great access. If you're a gambling nut a casino's nearby with a larger one not that far down the road. You might like it.
