That's right, Bikie.

Don't go confusing the term "bikie" with "biker". The bikie gangs include the likes of the Bandidos, Comancheros, Hells Angels, Finks, Gypsy Jokers, Rebels, Outlaws, Black Uhlans, Coffin Cheaters and Mongols, amongst many others.

NEW footage has emerged of the Gold Coast bikie brawl footage that sparked the Newman Government crackdown on outlaw motorcycle gangs.

The never-seen-before police footage shows the moments Bandidos members converged on a restaurant strip at Broadbeach, Queensland. It includes radio communications of local police units.

A fight begins after Bandidos gathered en masse to confront "rivas at Aura Restaurant" on September 27.

Officers can be seen pulling out tasers and firearms, forcing gang members on the ground. Other gang members are ordered to stand back during the confrontation.

Police are heard calling for urgent backup during the Friday night stand-off with gang members, with officers saying they are “vastly outnumbered” over their radios. It is an extremely tense situaton for all involved.

“Mate we’re surrounded here, we need urgent assistance,” one of the officers says over the radio in the footage. Another officer radios: “I need every available unit possible to this location, OK? I’ve got two sides they’re both about to go. It’s clearly outnumbered.”.

The footage was captured using mini-cameras mounted to the vests of police officers.

In the last few months, the outlaw motorcycle gang (bikie) landscape has undergone significant changes, with new alliances, re-sworn enemies, and one club seeing dozen of members handing in their colors.

New clubs are staking their claim, including the Mongols. With the clubs escalating the war between each other, the Queensland Government is leading the charge to dismantle the bikie gangs, put their members in jail and force them out of the state.

At a time when the Queensland police can ill-afford to ease up on the pressure, some members of the police force are taking weapons home since the gangs made it clear that police were in their sights.

A statement from Queensland Police Minister Jack Dempsey said the footage showed the “thugs police are dealing with”.

“These criminals and thugs are not welcome on the streets of Queensland and we will do whatever it takes to ensure they are dismantled and eliminated from Queensland,” he said in a statement.
