The King turned out in support of Queen Camilla as she launched a special new medal on Tuesday.

Her Majesty hosted a reception for authors, members of the literary community and representatives from The Queen’s Reading Room at Clarence House - the King and Queen's London home - to celebrate the launch of the Queen's Reading Room Medal.

The award is designed to recognise individuals who are championing books and storytelling in their local communities.

Despite the King being in attendance, it was his consort who was the focus of the event.

Other attendees included actors Richard E. Grant, Miriam Margolyes and Dame Joanna Lumley.

That's fair, I suppose. Your little island has produced a good few decent writers and storytellers.

Yeah. I suppose it has. "Frankenstein" by Mary Shelley is a good one. In fact, I enjoyed reading it so much a few years ago that when I came across the book again a few days ago I started reading it again. Seriously.

A brilliant exposition of the human condition, sadly cheapened and bastardized by popular culture.

Heard her husband could scratch out a decent line or two himself.
