Send Her Majesty an email by leaving a comment here. When Spy finds out the Queen's email address, we'll forward your message to her
Six years ago she shocked the world with the revelation that Prince Andrew had bought her a mobile phone - only to trump that in 2005 with the admission that her Majesty was the proud owner of an iPod mini.
Belying her age, the Queen also has an iPod and a mobile phone
But now, Spy can reveal that the Queen’s latest technological foray has been into the realm of email.
Our Buckingham Palace mole made the startling discovery on Monday at a Palace garden party in honour of the Household Cavalry.
The Queen was engaged in an animated conversation with Elizabeth Saltzman, the beautiful editor of Vanity Fair, towards the end of which Saltzman said: "Look, we must keep in touch."
"Absolutely!" agreed the monarch. "Here, let me give you my email address."
"Good lord, you use email?" replied a stunned Saltzman. "Oh yes," continued the Queen. "But I don’t actually write them - I dictate them all, of course."
So it’s official: the disreputable cousin of pen and ink now has the Royal Warrant.
Sadly, Buckingham Palace was unable to confirm if her Majesty gets sent information about the bank accounts of long-lost Nigerian benefactors and sources of cheap Viagra like everybody else, but we believe that these are all vital aspects of being a twenty-first century monarch.
Spy can only speculate as to what the royal email address might be - our current favourites are 'oneself@palace.gov.uk’ and 'lizzy_2@hotmail.com’ - but please send us your suggestions.
Whatever next - a royal blog?
