Quebec is getting its own web address.
On Nov. 13, people will be able to register for a .quebec website the same way they can get a .com or .ca site.
The website register.quebec, run by PointQuebec, has a countdown clock on its main page and says the new web address will open "a new digital Quebec territory" online.
"Businesses, organizations and Internet users now have a high-performance tool to find and be found quickly in the vastness of the web," the website says.
The web address was approved by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers earlier this year. People, groups and businesses can start reserving their domain names Sept. 2.
The address is similar to those of other areas, including .paris and .london.
Quebec is the first province or territory in Canada to receives its own geographical web address.
