"Protestant Thread, all others keep out"

"All others keep out."

Kind of reminds me of the old Southern Baptists.
I'd say it is more in response to the rough time AJ has gotten for expressing ideas in other threads...ones where there is only ONE way to look at religion and god, and no other way, because it is the right way. It's a tongue in cheek approach...:)

What do I know about the United Church?? Not a whole lot either, I hate to say, even though I was baptised there. I definitly have not been a regular attendee. They do seem to be much more open to different ideas, to debate, to different interpretations of the bible. It was one of the first churches that stated it would marry same sex couples, they have gay priests, they have a diverse collection of followers. Maybe this is what is meant by United? It brings together a whole cross section of folks with different interpretations under one umbrella.

That was not meant to read that way, but quite the opposite, "all others are welcomed".

You ever seen the scene where there was a hole in the tall wooden fence and someone wrote right above it, "do not peek"? Well, that was an invitation to pick. Know what I mean?

And too, it was done that way to make a point! Point being that that no one should be bared from any conversation when they are trying to learn.

I thought this thread was dead and buried!

But you know, everything comes and goes, but love never dies.
It is found and practiced in every generation.

Where as the opposite of that, hate, dies with the individual.

Love continues on, as it forgives even of the most atrocious offenses done one, to live a better life.

Harbouring hate, resentments takes away from true life, the kind of life that love can only give.
