The King's sister Princess Anne - who holds a high approval rating amongst the British public - has officially opened a village in Aylesford, Kent, for disavantaged British veterans.

After taking the Throne last year the King appointed Princess Anne, 73, the "deputy monarch" to stand in for him whenever abroad or incapacitated.
