Ongoing recruitment problems are forcing the RCMP to re-evaluate their hiring guidelines. They are thinking of allowing people who have criminal records and poor credit ratings into the force.
Personally I think it is the only way they are ever going to get the number of people they need.
I don't see how minor convictions in their youth should disqualify anyone. How many people have been turned away because of possession charges?
Just because someone makes a mistake in their youth does not mean they can't grow up to be an honest citizen.
