That very well may be the case... If the thermometers say as much, i won't doubt it.
That said, my beef is more related to the statements relative to causation than it is with the running record.
.. It's more than fair to say that historically (especially measured in a geologic time frame) that the ambient temps have demonstrated significant fluctuations to the tune of multiple ice ages and the consequent warming periods.
It's tough to sell the global warming package in the face of these realities recorded in the geologic record
