PJ...While moving your NDP thread to politics, I accidentally screwed it up. I apologize for that. Would you mind re-posting it please?

This is my first post on this site, and in my opinion a good site it is. I'm only 17 and don't know a ton about politics but really enjoy reading the topics people post. Not sure if anyone cares but I voted NDP because of their initiatives on the environment and unlike the conservatives and liberals to a lesser extent they are a party for the people, not big corporations. I also really like the idea of porpotional representation and I feel the NDP are less uptight and just have more FUN! Thats just my opinion.

Was Victoria, now Ottawa
I usually vote NDP but last election I voted Green. I knew they didn't have a chance but I wanted them to get some funding, and they got enough votes to get some. Now they can run more ads. If they have a chance in my riding I'll vote for them again, if only to get a seat. But I would like to see the NDP in power.

Have you looked into the youth wing of the NDP, lefthour? You can learn a lot there, not just about the NDP, but about politics in general.

Also, now that the Conservatives have officially decided not to support democratic reforms such as proportional representation, the NDP are the only party pushing for it.

What exactly is this thread about?

If it's about the NDP and how it is the best Party (BC especialy) than I agree. NDP! NDP! NDP!

I am campaigning for them and am currently a very active member. I am aslo getting a political science degree.\

British Columbia has been screwed by the liberals. The liberals have broken 25 major promises. They cut healthcare, they cut public funding, social services, they are privatizing BC hydro, sold CP rail. Screw thousand out of work, created a Training minimum wage of 6 dollars. etc etc etc, not to mention when the NDP left and the liberals came in, the NDP left the Liberals with a huge surplus (even with the fast ferries) and now the Liberals have pushed us into the biggest deficate Canada has ever seen. What do you have to say about that Liberal supporters. By the way, Paul Martin is more wishy Washy than John Kerry :) And the racist conservatives that would gladly hand canada over to Walmart......larf

I dont know about the rest of Canada, but if you are in BC and you dont vote NDP, you must be as dense as those Americans that voted Republican.

You have a short memory. Glen Clark was a clown and dam near ruined the economy. Yes the Liberals are bad but who is worse? They both are. Too bad there is no real third choice to vote for in BC.

Brad - WTF are you talking about - the budget has a RECORD $1.75B SURPLUS!

And by the way, the word is 'deficit' - 'deficate' means to have a crap.... which is what your post is full of.

As far as selling CP Rail, that will come as a helluva shock to the millions of shareholders in it - It's a PRIVATE Company!

.
I am aslo getting a political science degree.
From where - a Cheerios box?

We can talk further, when you're out of High School

The Libs are selling the province out just like the feds. The only reason there is a surplus is because of increased transfer payments to our have not province, courtesy of the feds. What has Cambell done to improve our lot in life in this province?

And the next time you walk into your wood-framed house heated with natural gas and sit down to a meal of meat, potatoes, and bread, you can thank the have-not provinces that feed and house you. BC and Saskatchewan are major natural gas producers. Soon your electricity will come from Manitoba too...subsidized by those transfer payments, no doubt.

Your provincialism is...well...very provincial, Jay. I don't mean that in a good way, either.

There's a difference, RB. Ontarians pay for their gas, meat, potatoes and bread. It is not "transferred" in the name of warm, fuzzy federalism.

There are no shortages of trees, cows, wheat, corn, chickens, fish or anything else for that matter in Ontario. Ever heard of Petrolia? Yes we even have natural gas too.

The timber from Sudbury went to rebuild Chicago when it burnt down.

I thought you would know that though. Ontario is very large and has lots of resources.

We don't need it. We have nuclear reactors, Niagara falls and coal. But if you guys can produce it cheaper we will consider buying it from you. Considering we probably paid for it anyways, we might as well use it....

I know you don't...

You don't like provincial pride, I can't imagine why.
