A mother received a barrage of abusive text messages in which she was labelled a 'fat tub of lard' after complaining about her faulty sofa.
Natalie Day, of Peterhead in Aberdeenshire, claims the manager of the firm she bought the couch from threatened to add her photo and contact details to an online escort site, break the windows of her house, and beat up her boyfriend.
The 26-year-old's nightmare began when she took delivery of the £499 piece of furniture - at 4am one morning - only to find it was missing the legs.
When she complained to the manager of the Huddersfield firm involved, Equinox Retail, she then started receiving the abusive messages.
One text read: 'You look like some fat tub of lard, but it doesn’t matter we still have 24 orders going out. Have fun scratching your floor.
'You’re just an address to me, nothing else. I personally hate ugly little rats especially fat overweight ones with no career or intelligence.
'Your boyfriend looks like something out of a horror show - I dread to think what your kids will turn into.'
