More pressure heaped on Labour Government by DUP

Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) MP Jim Shannon was brought to tears during his speech opposing the Labour government’s Northern Ireland Troubles Bill, which he says ‘enables the continued persecution’ of British veterans who served in Northern Ireland.

The DUP is a Northern Irish party which favours Northern Ireland being part of the United Kingdom.

The DUP is condemning the Labour Government for its despicable treatment of British soldiers who acted against Irish nationalists during the conflict.

The Troubles was a 30 year civil war in Northern Ireland (part of the UK) - 1968-1998 - between Catholics wanting a United Ireland and Protestants wanting Northern Ireland to remain part of the United Kingdom.
