Fair enough, but I can not agree fully...I agree with you,Dexter. I live in what is called a marginalized community. The problems that need to be resolved have to be addresed without the background.yes ,without the background. These problems have to be fixed in the present. If you constantly look into the past, you cannot see the future, This is not specifically targetted towards the natives,it is a fact with any group or individual. If you worry about that fella that did you wrong 10 years ago.who are you hurting, not him, that is certain, you are hurting yourself? Cheers,Happy New Year,Hippy New year,All the best.
First off, thanx Dex. Kind and supportive words from someone as enlightend and thoughtful as your self, mean much to me.

Yes the contemporay issues facing the reserve Native and the poverty stricken urban Native, should be addresssed with present day phylosphies and ideologies. That is not to say that there is not a potential for use of old ideas and ways to bring around extensive change and growth.
Furthermore, how as a "distinct Society" (and I blocked that in quotations for the reason, that Canada is made up of so many, we were, but the first)can we move forward in trust and faith with a system, that has continuously let us down, robbed us of our money held in trust, our culture and in some cases freedom?
I am of the school of thought, that if you forget your past, you have no future. The teachingings of the old ways and the Great Law is such that we do today for the benefit of 7 generations ahead. Not the here and now. Therefore, their past, will be their future, our past is all of our' future.
I and most of my ilk, do not fall in line with the hands held out crowd. We seek only to right the wrongs of both our past and present leaders, as well as the wrongs perpetrated upon us by the Federal Government. Nothing more, nothing less. You have to rid your mind of the ever present "self proclaimed" spokespersons of the Native peoples, that you endlessly see on TV. These are not a true cross section of the people. I would love to say I am. But sadly I am, but one of a small handfull. Look at the information I post, from sources such as MNN(Mohawk Nation News), the AFN(Assembly of First Nations) and so on. I post what I think best represents the facts. I can not bring myself to post all I see at these sites, but I post the links so others can see what those sites have to offer, besides what I think is relavent. IF you look at some of the stories and articles, they are really pipe dreams and Warrior tripe. Ment to incite or rile to Warrior blood in some Natives. The AFN a government toady group, puplishes fluff, but walks around with its hand out all the time.
I burn in pain, torn between the urge to do battle on the lines of protests and knowing the stereotypes they are creating. I burn with pain as I read article after article of Natives abusing their wives, drugs, kids, the environment etc. I cry as I ponder the future of my children, as the descendents of a once proud Nation, what will they have to fight, when I am gone? Will my cause, be for not, will I see the end of the crony-ism and rampant corruption? I fear I will not.
From past experience, I have seen far to much militance in the MWS. It is not without its benefits, but I find that, though many preach peace and the Great Law, they tend to act in opposition to it. I have cousins in the MWS. I have seen them be completely racist pricks, for no other reason then the people they wanted to fight with, were white and had done nothing wrong.Tansi Cdn bear,
I have read lots of your posts and for the most part agree with a lot of what you say. I was just wondering about the Mohawk Warrior Society and what it is that they have done to make you, judging by the sounds of it, against them?
I am also wondering why it is that the stance you take is neither with the natives nor against them?

Oh I am with the majority of Natives/First Nations people, I stand apposed to those that would pilfer the coffers for their own gain and sit idly by, well their brothers and sisters suffer. I take issue with those that would perpetuate the stereotype and give credence to the views of us, in the eyes of Non native peoples.
I'm really not sure how you got the impression that I neither stand with, nor against, there are many members here that have felt the lash of my verbal abuse for what they have claimed falsely, of my brothers and sisters. But I'm a realist, I'm not going to defend Native groups or individuals that defy the Great Law or act in contrary to the benefit of Native peoples.
Oh don't get me wrong, they are not without merit. But what you and I see as duty bound honour, the general mass media enslaved armchair political pundit, sees as a bunch bandana clad hoods. Then the media adds stories of the MWS being involved in drugs and guns. I can't lie, I know some are.Maybe I was wrong. sorry. I have respect for the Mohawk Warrior Society for the simple fact that they did stand up to injustice and for the fact that they protected their communites like warriors should. I don't know too much about the 6 nations confederacy, but I do learn fast and will continue to read your posts.
Thanks for responding.
btw, Onay and welcome to the boards, although you just ruined my token injun status, lmao.
It will be nice to have at the bigots and the knownothing revisionists with a brother by my side.
Thanks for the welcome. It's a lot better than what other people have said to me on this blog.

Words of wisdon, from a great gal.Take it from an old Wise Woman, People who act like that act that way in fear. Ignore it and know the light within you glows. Ive watched this exchange and found you are a seeker of truth not just a seeker of YOUR truth.
Can't fault a man for that belief.I seek the truth only because I don't wanna live a lie.
