More American Embarrassment

As if America wasn't knee deep in it enough, along comes more abuse. Killing innocent civilians, prisoner abuse, and now more prisoner abuse. What are they thinking? I guess you don’t get the best and the brightest joining the American army.

I was reading an article the other day where U.S. soldiers were wrapping Israeli flags around prisoners and making them dance to extremely loud music.

I'd like to know how long it takes to turn a soldier (a humanbeing) into an animal? What kind of garbage are American soldiers being fed where the hate becomes so ferocious that they would resort to this kind of stuff?

These soldiers are just ordinary folks. Yesterday they were working inside the system .... and today they brag about participating in rape and plunder.

It is amazing.

Get a copy of Gwynne Dyer's book "War". In it, you'll find out just how young Americans are trained and conditioned . It's not a very pleasant read..

Well the American soldiers were doing the same crap to people in Vietnam so I for one am not overally suprised there are bad apples in the military, violating Geneva convention.

It isn't bad apples, No1...it's a systemic problem that starts with the attitude in the White House.

Many will claim the Geneva convention does not apply to the war in Iraq, as they "insurgents" are not part of an official military unit. Ive argued this point endlessly with some on a different message board (with americans of course) to no avail. They see nothing wrong with it.

Its a sad day when they can justify the killing of unarmed people, and they wonder why they are so hated

Even if they ignore the Geneva Conventions they should realise that this is really counter-productive. They are making people mad and when people get mad they fight back.
