70's were awful in Canada; high inflation, high unemployment, rising interest rates. Not till the US turned around in '82 did things slowly start to get better here.No argument there, except the 70s were great here. The 80s were a pain in the ass for quite a few people trying to find jobs, though.
The root was the Community Reinvestment Act; Banks were forced by legislation to give out sub-prime mortgages.Yep. I agree that recovery could have been better, but in truth, DOHbama only inherited the mess. There are a few faulting factors involved but the root of the problem was corporate greed and gov't catering to it.
