A minor issue that caught my eye when I was surfing the CBC.ca site and it led me to Michael Geist's Blog.
Whose credientials include Canada Research Chair in Internet & E-commerce Law, University of Ottawa, Faculty of Law and is a columnist for the Globe and Mail.
He has been waging a campaign against Liberal Sam Bulte. She is the MP Parkdale-High Park, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Canadian Heritage and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Industry (Women Entrepreneurs); who he accuses of having biases towards corporations when it comes to copyright protection issues. This bias he implies is due to the heavy campaign funding by major players in the recording industry and movie. Especially, with a major fundraising dinner being held for her on Jan. 19th that is being hosted by players in the recording industry.
These things are legal, but Geist claims a conflict of interest between a government officials and that here recent "Bulte Report" heavily favoured the industry.
Michael has written about this several times in his column and recently, the "Hollywood Reporter" has picked up this story and it seems to be growing.
What does everyone think? I think this is worth investigating.
