If you happen to be one of the waterfowl family!Being it is Thjanksgiving weekend, I am thankful not to be outside in the teeming rain-50 to 100 mm predicted. Also,I am very grateful that it is still so warm that my windows can remain open and the heat off :) Is anybody out there building an Ark yet?

I'm running out of nails...can you come over to the island with some?

It seems to have dried off a little now, at least the rain isn't as torrential as it had been all yesterday, That rain was cold! but at least I had the wine to keep me warm...had a great cuddle on the couch with the love of my life and watched the new Family Guy movie to keep warm too while the rain poured down

Thousands in the dark after Nova Scotia storm

A teaser:

Many Nova Scotia homes are still without power after a winter storm brought up to 40 centimetres of snow to the province. The province's hydro company promises though that most people can expect to have their power back Saturday night.

At one point Saturday, about 100,000 customers were without power.

"We expect in excess of 90 per cent of customers will be restored by 11 p.m. tonight," Dan Muldoon of Nova Scotia Power, said. [/end of teaser]

Saw this on the news tonight. Pretty nasty. Sucks so many have power out. Hopefully it is all restored soon.

Snowy, icy storm roaring east into Quebec, Atlantic Canada

Teaser:
Eastern Ontario, Quebec and Atlantic Canada will be next to feel the effects of a powerful winter storm Friday that roared across southern Ontario overnight.

The storm is expected to bring periods of heavy snow, wind in places and possibly ice pellets and freezing drizzle. [/end teaser]

Sounds horrible and cold to me.

They said it was going to be one of the worst winter storms we have seen in a while. I expected it to be rather bad when I woke up this morning, only to find out nothing happened....

The last forecast here was for 5 to 10 CM of snow, then turning to rain by midnight[and 6 abovezero!],then to drizzle by morning. Not too bad a forecast..we can live with that :)
