RE: Looking for any kind

They do have a bit of a reputation. Here in Winnipeg a native group has taken to filming cops when they see them hassling other natives in attempt to stop racially motivated beatings.

Chances are they are waiting for the "right" phone call.

Canada has laws against entrapment. The cops have to get creative about catching the big guys.......

You'll never get the phone back.

The reason why the police arrested you was an attempt to bankrupt you. That is the punishment they really want.
Jail costs the government money .... they want you to pay a bit from your finances too.

Everytime you need to pay the phone bill, it's just part of the punishment.

They would of been curious maybe about who was calling you.

Go to a community legal clinic and ask a lawyer there to write the court judge and ask for a copy of what was seized during the time of your arrest.
Perhaps you could write the Toronto Police Services Board and copy same to your MPP.

Double-Register or get a signature verifying mail delivery.
Send it Express post where someone needs to sign for it.
In an office environment, if someone signs for something, they "own" it. The first thing they gotta do is find somebody else to give it to so that they no longer "own" the letter of complaint themselves. So, you may get quicker attention.
The larger the envelope, the more space it takes-up on a desk, and office people like "empty" desktops. So, buy a large envelope and it will stand-out from the other half million letters of complaint.

The only thing that police forces understand is "budgets". That is all! Make no mistake about that!
It is more important to police management to remain within their department budget than it is to arrest a pervert.
Also .... They spend alot of time and pay alot of money trying to get good publicity. You have to do something that puts that at risk .... it is a cost/benefit theory that police always look to or consider.
