Law and Order sentiment is running high these days.
P.M. Harper kept saying "for those who play by the rules" in his campaign.
Pres. Bush 2 has said recently that "we CANNOT just pick and choose which laws we will obey".
Then comes the hypocracy.....
At his latest news conferance, Pres. Bush 2 is asked about the illegal wiretapping of Americans, the reporter was quoting a 1978 law expressly forbidding that. Bush explains - "that was in 1978, its a different world now".
Ahh, I see. We can't pick and choose which laws to obey, unless we have an excuse.
Or, all laws before 1979 are not valid, go ahead and break them if you like.
Or, the most powerfull lawmaker in the world is being hypocritical, and with that he hopes to avoid prosecution.
Harper is not embracing the USA as openly as he previously did. Bush is making everyone uncomfortable with this latest hubbubb over wiretapping crimes, impeachment talk is rampant in Washington.
One other Law and Order issue is with torture.
Bush claimed, in that press conferance, that "WE have never tortured anyone".
But, as long as we know that Lyndie England, the brain-damaged private who served in Iraq, is in jail for torturing prisoners, Bush is really out of line saying that. We keep hearing, from the front-line soldiers and others, that it is still going on, serious torture where victims die of their wounds, terrible terrible tortures committed by Americans, primarilty against Islamic people. It is a CRIME, MrBush!!
Pick and choose, pick and choose....
What a load of crap Law and Order turns out to be...
