Kyoto targets? the hard numbers are?

Global warming is real but what are the numbers? I have read that Canada is 30% above our Kyoto targets, which are? _____?? Or, I read on the web Canada emits 2.3% of total world emissions, world emissions are? ____???

In Vancouver I phoned some media outlets and environmental organizations and no one had the answers right off. The receptionist at the David Suzuki Foundation like a good receptionist duly transferred my call, from which I got voicemail.

These Kyoto numbers, which seem more important that the business numbers, the sports scores or the Olympics, never get updated in the paper. Supposedly, I heard, Canada could spend billions of dollars on carbon credits too offset our overly high CO2 emissions. Real money is being talked about here so we need some real facts here. By country, province, city, person, industry etc ...

To me, I believe, we see the effects...so, we should take the action. We shouldn't wait for the government...we keep being failed by them. There are things each and every one of us can do to decrease our carbon output. It really doesn't matter what the numbers are to me. It's the action. I say, just do it!

"Canada produces 160 million tonnes a year of the world's eight billion tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions."

It is in the very last paragraph of the article.

Canada: 160 million tons of CO2 emissions
World: 8 billion tonnes of CO2 emission

The numbers and costs are not important.The liberal record on this matter is not important.The ndp's ramblings are not relevant. What is important is being able to point a finger at the conservatives and label them as the party that does not care about the enviroment.Go cbc go,the unofficial voice of the liberal party.
