King arrives at Balmoral to mark anniversary of mother's death

The King has received an official welcome to Balmoral Castle in Aberdeenshire today at a small ceremony outside the castle gates.

King Charles III inspected a Guard of Honour formed by the Balaklava Company, 5th Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland.

He also met their mascot, Shetland Pony Corporal Cruachan IV.

The King and Queen are to stay at Balmoral to mark the first anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II's death. She died at Balmoral on 8th September 2022.
