King Charles III and Queen Camilla have decided not to follow the Queen’s habit of remaining in Sandringham in Norfolk after Christmas until February.

Instead, they have started 2023 with a romantic break at their 6,000 acre marital home.

In one of several permanent changes to King Charles III’s calendar, the couple will be in Birkhall neighbouring the Balmoral estate in Aberdeenshire.

The King used to spend summer at Birkhall as a child and inherited it after his grandmother's death in 2002.
