So far so good. That Kanotix is easy to learn. It took me a few days to figure it out but so far I love it. Fire fox is a good browser, I like the "tabs". Makes it easier for an old guy like me. ha.
I bought a second hard drive and put it on that. I downloaded the 704 mb version. I ran the beginner hardware detection. Seemed to work ok. For some reason mpg and mp3 run in Quicktime but not .wav? I downloaded the Darwin open source. Maybe I will try to reinstall. But Apple said it should work on Linux. I also have Kaffeine.
I don't know why anyone would pay gates $150 + for an upgrade XP or $399 for full version of XP Pro when you can choose from many diferent Linux programs for FREE!!

There is one for everyones needs.
To me Kanotix seems more stable? than XP. I do not get pauses when I open programs like I sometimes recieved with XP.
But I still have lot to learn about Linux but there is a lot of help out there for new users. I do not know why more people do not use Linux...
