If I ask a Mormon about black people and their origins, is the Mormon faith truly except them?. Are their views like the KKK's.? "They are generous, loving, pleasant, disciplined, and god-fearing", but how many serial killers were deemed to be similar by their neighbours?

According to the Mormons, Lamanites are the native American Indians who they erroneously claim, are descendants of Hebrews (who 'strayed' and became 'cursed' with dark skin) even though it has been established by DNA evidence that the native American Indian is related to tribes in Asia which crossed a land-bridge tens of thousands of years ago.


I find this interesting, are Mormons turning the corner from racism?

I have no doubt there are bigoted Mormons, but it doesn't appear to be the norm.

socrates why are you so hard on the mormoms? the protostants and other chritians had a habit of killing them out of states and pushing them west, mabye thats why you think there racists

I've very little experience with any Mormons beyond the ones that occasionally
make it onto my doorstep. They're always well dressed & polite. They don't stay
long (after dropping their literature), as they seem to be uncomfortable around my
dog. My dog (the one that makes them nervous) happens to be black. Coincidence? ;-)

We don't get Mormons, we get JWs. But we do have Bountiful nearby, which is loosely based on Mormonism; kind of like a cult of it.
