Petrochemical Plant Explosion Kills 1 in Shangha

TikTok says your data won’t be seen by China because it’s stored in the United States. But a new report reveals that China can still see it. A three-part explosion rattles a petrochemical plant in Shanghai. The blasts killed one and injured at least one more. Severe flooding sweeps southern China. The region is coping with damages, as torrents tear down roads and bridges and cause other issues. Will the Biden administration remove tariffs on some Chinese goods? Both the president and the Treasury secretary discussed the possibility over the weekend. Four days—that’s all it took to find a replacement heart for an organ transplant patient. But an expert is drawing attention to the seemingly unbelievable speed, and asking: is a Chinese hospital harvesting organs?

Video

The conditions of the victims of the Tangshan beating has sparked public speculation. No family members have come forward, and authorities and the media are covering it up. Some claim three have died from injuries. What is behind this brutal violence? We break down new updates on the gang attack on female patrons at a restaurant.

I also spoke with cyber security expert Rex Lee on the news that China-made coffee machines could be spying on you. He says it’s much bigger than that.

Will the NIH Stop Funding Chinese Research?; Musk: No Problems Balancing China, Tesla, Twitter

China in Focus

Over $8M in tax dollars, funneled to China. Will the U.S. keep funding Chinese research? Dr. Fauci responds. Beijing bans Tesla drivers from entering a certain area. Some suspect the Communist regime fears the American car maker can access its data. Elon Musk says he can balance his Tesla interests in China with his Twitter acquisition. On the other hand, a Chinese professional urges Beijing to destroy Musk’s Starlink satellites. In one of China’s biggest tech hubs, authorities give in to the demands of the people. That’s after a massive protest demanding COVID-19 restrictions be eased. And another gas explosion strikes China. The accident left 23 people injured, and 3 of them with severe burns.

Is the Chinese Regime Benefiting More From US Policies Than Americans?

Video

Over the Target
LEE SMITH

Sending half a million barrels of oil to China daily while Americans pay record-high energy prices. Removing tariffs on Chinese solar panel makers to hurt U.S. manufacturers. Giving Beijing U.S. intellectual property for free. And that’s just for starters.
In this provocative new Over the Target, Brendon Fallon and Lee Smith question whether the Chinese regime benefits more from American policies than Americans.

Schools Replace Confucius Institutes w/ New Programs; China Property Sector: Trade Garlic for House

China in Focus

Are the Confucius Institutes in the United States truly closed? A report says some of them are back, but under new names. China’s flood season is getting worse. So far, 85 rivers have risen above flood warning levels. More Chinese banks are having difficulty completing customer withdrawals. Some are even limiting how much money can be transferred. Two Chinese real estate companies present an unusual alternative to a cash down payment. For those that don’t have the money, certain crops are accepted instead. As Shanghai residents complain about a lack of state aid, the city has started urging locals to donate to authorities instead—in the name of supporting COVID-19 measures.

China Repurposes COVID-19 App as Gulag Fast-Pass

Video

The Chinese regime has repurposed its COVID-19 app as a tool for social control. The regime recently used the app to prevent bank protests by turning the health code of protesters “red,” which mandates them to be sent into two weeks of confinement.
Meanwhile, we’ve invited Tiffany Meier, host of China in Focus, to talk with us about China’s growing control over U.S. agriculture and food supplies.
And in other news, the Texas GOP has declared the presidency of Joe Biden as illegitimate, and has again launched a process to secede from the United States.
In this live Q&A with Crossroads host Joshua Philipp, we’ll discuss these stories and others, and answer questions from the audience.

Yup. It started when our company heads decided it was cheaper to have them manufactured oversees. It worked for 50 years.

Former TOPGUN Commander Explains the Total War Threats of Russia and China

Video

Crossroads
JOSHUA PHILIPP

The international adversaries the United States faces haven’t changed much since the Cold War. While the technology has evolved, the unconventional war tactics they use have remained largely the same. Now, as Russia threatens war beyond Ukraine, Iran and North Korea renew their threats; and as the Chinese regime threatens Taiwan, the United States is again faced with the possibility of war.
Yet, all of these nations have employed methods of war by other means. And the question remains of how the United States should respond. Special training programs in the U.S. military practice to face these types of threats—and among them is the Navy’s Fighter Weapons School, known as TOPGUN.
To learn more, we speak with James Robb, former TOPGUN commander, retired Navy admiral, and president of the National Training and Simulation Association.

NATO to Focus on Chinese Regime; US Bans Xinjiang Forced Labor

China in Focus

For the first time, nations from the Indo-Pacific region will join a NATO meeting—all because of China. Beijing may have realized it’s gone too far. A special envoy from China expressed the sentiment during a special trip to Europe. Beijing’s mouthpiece is taking aim at the upcoming NATO summit by making use of a tweet circulating online. In a summit between the world’s five largest developing countries, China helped Russia return to the international stage. It marks the first time since Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine. Shanghai residents speak up against repeated lockdowns, but authorities recently stepped in to stifle a public demonstration. Locals say it’s become hard to survive in the city.

China’s Ambitions in Africa to Displace the US on the Global Stage

China Insider

China’s influence in Africa is displacing the global position of the United States. This long game to subvert and dominate an entire continent is decades in the making. Now, that effort is paying off with heavy debt for the nations in Africa—and helping China become even more powerful at the United Nations. All the while, China harvests the natural resources on the continent. I have Tiffany Meier to break down what is happening in the region.

The China Diplomacy Trap, Dangerous Aerial Intercepts, and Xi Jinping’s COVID Paranoia

Video

American Thought Leaders
JAN JEKIELEK

“When we say war, the first thing Dave Stilwell thinks of is my F-16 with bombs, kinetics, killing people and breaking their things. … That’s not how the PRC thinks of war.”
I sit down with retired Brigadier General David Stilwell. From 2011 to 2013, he served as the defense attaché at the U.S. Embassy in Beijing and was appointed assistant secretary of state for East Asian and Pacific Affairs in 2019.
“We want this to be a cooperative relationship like we have with other countries. … But after 40 years, you have to assume that this plan isn’t working and we’re going to have to change direction. And so the relationship is defined by the lowest common denominator, and that’s the PRC approach, which, guess what, is a cold war. … It’s ideological, and in fact, is existential.”
Why is China engaging in dangerous aerial intercepts? What’s fueling the Chinese regime’s “zero-COVID” policy? And how is Beijing weaponizing our media and information systems against us?
We discuss all this and more in this episode of American Thought Leaders.

The CCP’s ‘Reengineering of the World to Spread Totalitarianism, to Spread Communism’

China Insider

The Chinese regime is in an all-out war against the United States. According to Ian Easton, it is an ideological war against the United States. However, that entails control from inside American society, dominating tech warfare, elite capture, and global infiltration. I speak with Ian Easton, senior director of the Project 2049 Institute, about his new book, “The Final Struggle: Inside China’s Global Strategy.” We discuss his extensive study of Communist Party writings and the discovery of an all-out struggle against the United States, what the Communist Party seeks to accomplish by overthrowing the United States, and the liberal international order.

G7 Aims to Raise $600 Billion to Counter China’s Belt and Road Initiative

China in Focus

Seven world powers are looking to counter China with a new project and hundred-billion dollars in funding. It’s designed as an answer to China’s Belt and Road Initiative.

We take a closer look at why some call Beijing’s Belt and Road Initiative a form of “debt-trap diplomacy.”

Chinese state media outlets are publishing reports on the Belt and Road Initiative’s growth. Some of them are highlighting its cross-continental train line.

Communist China’s Belt and Road Initiative has expanded rapidly since its first launch. A useful tool is its cross-continental freight train.

The United States is stepping up engagement in the Indo-Pacific in an attempt to counter China’s growing influence, ahead of the next NATO meeting.

A Chinese ambassador told reporters that Beijing is ready to sell aircraft parts to Russia. But Chinese media have largely blocked the story.

Air Force Reactivates Unit Over China Threat; Biggest Overhaul for NATO Since the Cold War

Seven democratic powers invited India and South Africa to this week’s G-7 summit. The move sought to strengthen the West’s front against China and Russia, but the result may not be so clear-cut. One G-7 member nation in particular remains deeply involved in China’s Belt and Road Initiative. For now, its next move remains to be seen.

China is pushing for the largest military build-up in history, and the head of the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command is ringing alarm bells over it.

The U.S. Air Force is on the move in response to advanced fighter jets that China has developed.

One South Pacific island nation says it’s standing by Taiwan. It withdrew from a United Nations Conference in protest of China’s threat to the island.

And another country takes a similar stance, recognizing Taiwan as the only China.

The Inside Story of the Canadian Trucker Protests—Andrew Peloso and Jeremy Regoto

Video

American Thought Leaders
JAN JEKIELEK

“You could tell they were fighting for something bigger than just becoming a viral hit overnight or trying to take power. They were fighting for their families. They didn’t have a job to go back to, so this was their last shot. … They really meant it when they parked on those streets of Ottawa.”
I sit down with Andrew Peloso and Jeremy Regoto, directors of the new docuseries “Trucking for Freedom.” They take us inside what they witnessed and captured at the frontlines of the Freedom Convoy trucker protests in Canada.
Chapter One of the series is now streaming on EpochTV.

Will China Surpass US Military Power in Asia?; India to Pay for Russian Coal in Chinese Yuan

China in Focus

What’s the biggest threat to North America and Europe? The U.S. says it’s China. But the world’s biggest military alliance gives a different answer. As Beijing rapidly expands its military, could the power balance in Asia shift towards China? That’s as questions rise over whether Washington’s aid to Ukraine will impact its commitment to Taiwan. We spoke with expert Greg Copley for answers. A recent coal purchase is making headlines over an unusual payment method. The transaction is between an India-based company and a Russian coal supplier, and is valued in the millions. Costco is recalling hundreds of thousands of solar umbrellas—all of them made in China. Reports say a malfunction can cause them to catch fire. And, protests in Central China’s Henan province. That’s over $6 Billion in customer money, stuck inside local banks.
