Alright, I'm on a tangent here...but i want to see what you all think.

Alot of people say "America does this and that". But is it America that is the enemy? Or is it exeedingly closer to home?

The greatest idea America was founded on was Democracy and Freedom.
The worst idea America was founded on was Capitalism.

Do you know why Capitialism "beat" Socialism? It's because of the very nature of the beasts.

Socialism can work. But it only works if EVERYONE agrees to participate and adhere to the rules.

Capitalism can work. Bit it only work if a FEW agree to particiapte and adhere to the rules.

Think about it like this...you have four people. Each person has a choice. X or Y. X is Capitalism and Y is Socialism. Both have the same inherent value to the individual. The real values change when you compare them who what each person chooses.

If everyone chooses X. The X is worth -1 "point".
If 3 people choose X but one chooses Y. The X is worth +1 "point", but the Y is worth -3 "points".
If 2 people choose X and two choose Y. The X is worth +2 "points", and the Y is worth -2 "points".
If only 1 person chooses X and the other 3 choose Y. The X is worth +3 "points" and the Y is worth -1 "point".
If everyone chooses Y. The Y is worth +1 "point".

Try this exercise with friends. And see if you can get everyone to constantly choose Y for the betterment of all, or if someone will take X for personal gain at the detriment of the group. Or better yet...do it but do not explain the VALUES of X and Y. See if the participants can discover it for themselves. Likely all will start taking X, or bullying someone into taking a Y for the "good of the group".
This might help give insight into the world economic/political/military dynamic.

Okay that is interesting but its flawed.

Socialism is still alive and well all over the world, look outside what your told.

Germany, France, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Switzerland are all socialist based goverments and work just fine thank you very much.

If you mean Americas historical view of everything socialist as communist then just say so.

Canada as well is a socialist leaning country although it would be hard to see it with the boneheads occupying our House of Commons.

Capitalism is doomed to fail as well. As it is, it is not sustainable over the long run. Capitalism must always consume and grow to maintain the status quo. Resources, people, land etc are all finite things - they can only go so far.

Capitalism makes a few people very rich and the rest are mearly servents to the cause of the few. Like revolutions of yesteryear the sheeple will awaken to the tragedy that has befallen them.

Why should 1% of the worlds population control 90% of the total wealth? Why should decisions be made behind closed doors by unelected figures while the masses toil to keep ahead of the repoman?

A capitalist at all costs system employed by the wealthiest nations is clearly causing riffs around the world. Our own Prime Minister put it best when he said - "what we do outside our own borders will come back to haunt us. We are responsible for many great things, but we are also responsible for massive suffering and death and inequalities by our march towards globalization."

Sorry I was thinking of Russia (USSR) and that is wrong.

Communism is NOT socialism. However, when you pit a communistic society against a capitalistic society it SEEMS capitalisms win.

But good points!
