The liberal left has too much faith in letting its
guard down about the manipulation of life in the
dawning of our science fiction future.

Sometimes it takes a really wrong headed group
to do the right thing when the right people ought
to be just as concerned.

Intellectual non church goers are acting way too
nonchalant and superior about these issues
of the future.

I agree.....the left is soo blinded by hatred towards the United States that in the end they can't really see the forest for the trees....

Even the Christian Right, and even the general
Christian population is rejecting his outrageous statements, and that's where Pat Robertson is really feeling the pain of the criticism.

A lot of church goers know intuitively that
calling for the assassination of Hugo Chavez, or saying
New Orleans deserved Katrina, or saying Sharon of Israel
deserved a stroke for giving up the Gaza is fundamentally
wrong on Christian principles alone, let alone what
politics you hold to.

K..lets differentiate...this guy is a nutjob. That country is a nutjob..hell even the other middle eastern countries think Iran is a nutjob.

But Islam is not the problem. Islam is a very peaceful religion. This has nothing to do with Islam and everything to do with extremism, which you find in all religions. Insanity is not an Islamic trait.

Oh don't worry about the political correct thing about
understanding Islam or even Christianity correctly.

In fact Islam is being hijacked and everyone is way
too politically correct to take a stand on that in unison,
especially because of the many American sins that stand
in the way of doing that.

Think about it.

Zeitgeist.

So its perfectly alright for you to toss out insults against Islam in the name of moving a debate forward, but its not ok for anyone to question you about that?

All revealed religions are a product designed to dominate and control the masses. The three monotheistics mastered this process. If you want hijacking of christianity, start around 1700 years ago. None of the modern christian sects stem from the true roots of the first generation christians, who honestly did not record anything since they thought the end of the world was coming in their lifetime!

But I believe in process.

We have to go through certain levels before graduating
to other higher levels, and so what the 3 mono-theistic
religions went through is a process of learning and
discovery, and all 3 religions are still evolving.

I'm not a big believer that the rebel has any more
moral standing than the current authority.

Both are quite similar in their own moral dilemnas.

When I read that crappy analogy about Mouseland
always electing fat cats to rule them, I saw a fundamental flaw in that analogy.

It's this belief that YOU are not like THEM.

False.

Given the same set of circumstances YOU will most
undoubtedly be like THEM.

And so often we see the rebel party gain power and
become what they despised.

You are very correct, jim.

the difference between the ruler and the ruled is merely one of opportunity. History has shown us this.

Morality is a relative term though, and all religions are constantly evolving. They must, lest they become irrelevent to the people that endorse them.
