Both houses of the Virginia legislature flipped to majority Democratic (the governor is a Democrat).

A Democratic challenger beat the incumbent Republican governor of Kentucky.

The incumbent Republican governor of Mississippi retained his seat.

Read it how you will.

The republicans suffered the worst midterm defeat in US history last year and have just been beaten up in Kentucky and Virginia and have a president who is badly trailing the 5 top democrat contenders.

Fatty in trouble

Bad case of "rats deserting sinking ship" syndrome coming up!
Fun, wow!
Nah, that would be if they were resigning or retiring.

In the U.S., most people don't vote for parties. More than half of the electorate aren't registered to either major party. They are the ones who decide elections, and the "Independents" are sending some pretty clear signals.
