Hwy 404 Extension at last?

I noticed they're breaking ground at the north end of Hwy 404 in Newmarket. It looks like the long awaited 404 extension and Bradford bypass may be on their way.

I sure hope so, because every new leg they build makes my drive to work a faster one and increases my property values.

I can't find any recent press releases on it though...maybe they're trying to sneak it in before the enviro-faction gets wind of it...

Personally, I'd just as soon see some EFFECTIVE form of public transit instead, but they seem to think we can somehow do without both...

Anyone seen anything "official"?

I haven't seen anything to date. I sure can say that I'll be glad I don't have to use the 400 to Barrie anymore. That extention is so overdue, it just goes to show you what we are paying our public servants for, sweet dick all.

Bradford Bypass thing might be an excellent way around paying road tax to Spain on 407 ... and get around the mess of 401/Spaghetti Junction/ 400 to Major Mack..... Plan is to terminate new construction at Hwy 48/Pefferlaw then use a twinned 48 to 12. Driven those roads many times on a hot summer week-end. About time!

48/12 has long been ready for four lanes.
I had heard the 404/400 connector was to be south of Keswick, north of Queensville, cutting across south of Bradford. It's pretty marshy in that area.
