Wonder why he didn't just push the egg through with a spoon or something.

At any rate, I never have any trouble peeling an egg, so I think I'll continue peeling. :)

lol... give the two a try and see which works.

air pressure can spread out over the whole egg, rather than poking into just one spot, and propel the egg out. A spoon would just mash the spots it touches it.

lol It's gonna be pretty mashed by the time it hits my belly anyway, but the underside of a spoon is fairly uniform and certainly more hygienic.

except that it can't propel it all the way through. it can only push it until the shell stops the spoon, right? Then you're essentially just mashing egg and shell together. If I'm picturing it right. Plus, you'd give the part through the shell time to expand back out, and put pressure on the shell, and it would all just crumple and mush.

I'm going to try it next time, looks so simple, just don't forget to hold your hand
out front, or egg will take off.;-)

I always have put the eggs 'immediately in very cold water from the stove, wait
only a few minutes, then the shells come off very easily, similar to what he did
only push it with your hands, after removing a few shells from one end.
I will try the baking soda idea as well.
