Was Victoria, now Ottawa
Great Canadian music? The Rheostatics, Inbreds, 54/40, Blue Rodeo, The Gandharvas, Neil Young, Sloan, and yes, the Barenaked Ladies (Gordon was a good album).

Where was I? Oh, yeah A: Jan Arden "Time For Mercy". Now, into the B list: Big Sugar [everything].BarStool Prophets" Last of The big Game Hunters", Blue Rodeo. " Just like A Vacation","5 Days in July" and "greatest Hits Vo.1" There's no BareNakedLadies in my CD Collection[and won't be either!]

I won't be listing any more of my collection[not enough bandwidth]. I have enough Neil Young,Bruce Cockburn and Joni Mitchell to fill a couple of pages. I hope some of you will give Alexisonfire a listen[maybe our best new band in years!]

Nothing tops Rush the greatest canadian band ever!!

Never thought I'd see "Rush" + "greatest" in the same sentence. I thought they were on the radio because of Canadian content laws or something. I hate that song "Tom Sawyer" so much.

Amazing Canadian music: Matt Good; Sum 41; Our Lady Peace

Do you have any suggestions as to where I might find all the Canadian top 40 hits of the 80's and 90's?

...and I do like The Guess Who, even though Burton Cummings can be kind of a dick...

...a friend of mine had a band...Tooth n' Nail, and back in the late '80s early '90s, they were Burton Cummings' touring band...he promised them all sorts of record deals and studio time, and offered to produce a CD for them...when all was said and done, they walked out on him, because he tried to usurp their creative control...he wanted them to be the New Guess Who...

They changed their name to Sandozz Minstrels, and produced their own CD, which can be found here...some good tracks, although the Cummings influence is still obvious...

About a month ago, while surfing the web looking for Canadian bands, I found out that they've gone back to being Tooth n' Nail, and are playing the club circuit again...haven't seen them play in about 10 years or so...maybe I should make it a point of going out to see them...I've changed so much in ten years though...*sigh*
