"Either way, most Republicans treat blacks with contempt and scorn."

You may have something there, SirJosephPorter.

Good we agree on something. At least you have the candor to admit that Republicans treat blacks with contempt. Some others here have difficulty in admitting that. While belonging to Republican Party, they refuse to admit that Republicans treat blacks with contempt and with scorn.

The Democrats get full credit for a new word in the English language: "BORKING", after the shameful treatment, indeed the "high tech lynching" they gave to candidate and now Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.

Bork was a right wing extremist; he deserved to be kept off the Supreme Court. His replacement, Justice Kennedy is a much more reasonable person. Bork would have voted with religious right on just about every issue. He would have voted to ban abortion (of course), recriminalize homosexuality, against any kind of gun control, for teaching of Book of Genesis in schools in addition to (or in place of) evolution and so on.

He deserved what he got. As to Clarence Thomas, he is another Bork, he also belongs to the rabid right. Whatever Bork was going to vote for (ban abortion, recriminalize homosexuality etc.), Thomas has already voted in favor of those issues. Clarence Thomas is a classic hate monger. It is too bad he was not rejected by the Senate.

The also deserve full credit for intolerance for way they treated Colin Powell, (until he was bought off) and Condolleezza Rice. The way They treat the head of the Republican National Committee, Micheal Steal.

Democrats have always treated Powell with utmost respect, it is the Republicans who have trashed him again and again. As to Michale Steele (I assume you mean Steele, and not Steal, though that may be appropriate enough name for him), it is the Republicans who are after his hide, not Democrats.

Well, let them! The Republican Party has an excellent record of recruiting and appealing to QUALITY black people. Let the Democrats have the blind and misinformed who still think that Lincoln was a Democrat.

What record? The only prominent black Republican around is Michael Steele, and the far right is braying for his blood.

SirJosephPorter, you quote me - partially, of course, without full context - thus:

"Good we agree on something. At least you have the candor to admit that Republicans treat blacks with contempt. Some others here have difficulty in admitting that. While belonging to Republican Party, they refuse to admit that Republicans treat blacks with contempt and with scorn."

But you forgot (Hell, not forgot, intentionally omitted) the rest:

"But the REAL fact is that ALL Democrats treat black who have the nerve to be conservatives/Republicans as despicable Unle Toms, whitey-wanna-be's and far far worse."

Typical liberal spin: quote what's convenient and ignore anything and and everything that would expose you as a bald-faced liar.

Bork was no more a "right wing extremist" than Obama was, is and always will be a left-wing, Marxist extremist. Just look at the people he followed thru the years and the people he surrounded himself with. All marxists, Communists and left-wing Mao-worshipping terrorists.

Bork and Thomas never wanted to "FUNDAMENTALLY CHANGE" the United States. The change that Obama promised (and I have to give him credit to keep his word) meant that individual effort and its fruits are now the property of the government, in the holy, MARXIST name of income redistribution, so eloquently told to Joe the Plummer, during the Campaign.

Bork and Thomas never trampled on the Constitution of the United States as this dilettant, rabid left-wing "president" does.

Bork and Thomas (if they were President) would never sign a bill that would force Americans to buy something they don't want, like this 'constitutional expert' did.

And if you want to hear a REAL hate speech, listen to your Annointed One, time after time after time.

Democrats have NEVER treated any conservative/Republican blacks with respect. To say that they have is a lie bigger than I thought even you would be capable of. Once Powell was bought off he was treated by Democrats with a closely guarded, careful respect. Condelleezza Rice, Michael Steele, Dr. Walter Williams, Dr. Thomas Sowell, Larry Elder or any and all other black politicians, journalists, scientists who dared NOT to toe the Democratic line were always and always will be besmirched and demeaned by 'loving and tolerant' Democrats who would be hard pressed to hold a candle to or shine the shoes of those I mentioned.

It is a safe bet that if a Republican Senate treated a liberal Supreme Court nominee the way the Democratic Senate treated nominees Bork and Thomas, SirJosephPorter would cry the largest crocodile tears.

Are you kidding? Bork and Thomas are all for fundamentally changing USA. Let us see what would have happened if the way Clarence Thomas voted had been the will of the majority of the Supreme Court.

Abortion would be illegal over most of USA. Thomas is the most ardent supporter of overturning Roe.

Homosexuality would be a felony today in Bible Belt states, a crime punishable by 10 years in prison. When the Texas Sodomy law came to Supreme court for decision, Thomas spoke enthusiastically for it. Indeed, in his hatred towards the homosexuals, he could only be described as ‘black KKK’, if such a thing is possible. The vote against Texas Sodomy Law was 7 to 2; Thomas was one of those supporting the law.

Public schools would be forced to teach Book of Genesis in addition to or in place of theory of evolution. When the issue went to the Supreme Court, it ruled by a 7 to 2 vote that Creationism is indeed religion. One of the two dissenting votes was Thomas.

If majority had gone along with Thomas, USA would be drastically different today, and well on its way to becoming a Fundamentalist Christian Theocracy. Bork is in the same mold as Thomas.

Bork and Thomas never trampled on the Constitution of the United States as this dilettant, rabid left-wing "president" does.
Bork hasn't, since he is (mercifully) not a Justice. But Thomas has trampled on the US Constitution many times, as is evident that many times he is in a minority position on the Court.

Bork and Thomas (if they were President) would never sign a bill that would force Americans to buy something they don't want, like this 'constitutional expert' did.
Perhaps not. But they most certainly would sign a bill banning all abortions, making the teaching of Book of Genesis mandatory in schools, and making homosexuality a crime punishable by 10 years imprisonment.
