James Brown, the dynamic, pompadoured "Godfather of Soul," whose rasping vocals and revolutionary rhythms made him a founder of rap, funk and disco as well, died early Monday, his agent said.

At least we still have all his music. I was always a big fan of his early King and Federal recordings and still consider them to be among the greatest soul music ever. Here's a hope that God likes the Funk.
