Secret Pentagon Report: "Climate Change Will Destroy Us"

Terrorism is not a bigger threat than Global Warming [despite what the Pres says].
Global Warming is the bigger threat, short and long term. Now a clear and present danger too, with hurricanes and severe weather. Crop failures and mulititudes of displaced people present a horrific scenario [80% of the human race lives in coastal areas that will flood as the sea rises and storms push ashore].

Spending money of refinery capacity now is absurd, but that is what Bush announced to day in his TV speach. MORE oil buring, not less? That is suicidal. Spending that money on alternative energy systems could ease the supply situation enough to avoid the crisis, and provide us with real direction for the future.

The Pentagon says that climate change is a bigger threat than terrorism, just not publicly of course, we know why:
"the Bush administration's close links to high-powered energy and oil companies was vital in understanding why climate change was received sceptically in the Oval Office. 'This administration is ignoring the evidence in order to placate a handful of large energy and oil companies,' he added."

"Arctic Ice Melt Accelerates to Record Lows"

Accelerating melting has shrunk Arctic ice to its smallest extent in at least a century, according to scientists
Having four years in a row with such low ice extents has never been seen before in the satellite record. It clearly indicates a downward trend, not just a short-term anomaly

GW: we can't deny it exists anymore; we can't ignore that hurricane strength and severe weather is from it; and we can't expect to live very well unless we cut fossil fuel usage to reduce the rate of change in global warming.

These are facts as clear as the nose on your face. A sunburned nose at that!!
