Hello
jambo101!
Provided that you were married to her mother at the time that your daughter was born, she
is eligible for a passport for the
United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (through a claim of citizenship). To apply, she needs to visit the Web site of the United Kingdom’s
Identity and Passport Service (
here). The form can be completed on-line, and when completed, IPS prints the form and sends it to her address for signatures and the collection of documents. She must include, with her documents, a photocopy of your United Kingdom birth certificate, two copies of a United Kingdom passport photo, photocopies of both sides of your daughter’s provincial ID, and a guarantor must sign the provincial ID photocopy, one of the passport photos, and s. 10 of the application form. The passport fee is £77.50.
There are also organisations that can assist you with applications for United Kingdom passports for Canadians (such as
Immigroup.com,
here); however, these organisations charge exorbitent fees for assistance (up to
Ca$250). My recommendation would be that you give a call to the Identity and Passport Service’s
Passport Adviceline at
0300 222 0000 for assistance and suggestions. I hope that helps at least somewhat!
