Get Candidates to talk Health Care! 'going to re write law.

I think we, have some problems in the Agenda. Gomrey will serve to keep our eyes off the ball! A red hearring!

Mr. Klein of Alberta stated he would make no moves on health care until after the Federal Election.

The Quebec Courts have made a ruling on private for profit health care which effects Quebec but, not the other provinces.

We hear continually “we will defend the Canada Health Act”
I want to hear it won’t be changed in any way that will remove universality!

Mr. Martin who is excellent in answering direct questions has failed to respond to five attempts on the question “In consideration of the Quebec Health Care situation and in consideration of Mr. Klein’s insights; is it your intention to open the Canada Health Act for the purpose of changing it to include private for profit health care without penalty?”
I would hope each one of us challenge our candidates on what Mr. Martin plans to do with health care after the election. We all know the party position but, Mr. Martin’s position and intention seems to be different.

Mr. Martin seems to be further right wing than does Mr. Harper. We have cause for great concern here. Both parties would rather discuss real estate on the moon than health care! Challenge your candidates!

Note the item on Private Health implications.Implications.

RE: Get Candidates to talk Health Care! 'going to re write l

all the candidates for my area are drones. i emailed them on topics and got not reply. I then emailed the leaders, to which only the liberals (and even though i am not even in quebec, the bloc) replied.

So, the NDP and the CONservatives are off my list (well, the cons were never on my list).

Funny I emailed my canadates and the Leaders.
I've gotten respunces from, Jack Layton, Marco my NDP canadate, and an email from the conservative canadate. I did not get anything back from Ken Drydan, nor did my wife and all I got from martin was an auto responce. Just like his email the way he runs parliment is on auto-pilot.

the caracal kid, yeah I think it's immportant to see how the canadates re-act when you send them an email, if there responsive and what not. Though it would seem as if we got different repplys from Layton. *shrugs*

they probably did not like my questions. heh heh heh....

I simply asked them there stance on electoral reform. I'm actually surprised Jack Layton emailed me back. Out of all the poeple I emailed mine to him wasn't that friendly since I voted for the NDP last election on election reform and it didn't appear they were pushing it.

Dear Craig,

Thank you for writing me with your views on electoral reform.

Let me assure you that we have been active in promoting electoral reform both here in Ottawa and elsewhere. During this session of Parliament my caucus colleague NDP MP Pat Martin has introduced Bill C-226 that would provide for the consideration of proportional representation as an electoral reform option in the House of Commons. In addition, Ed Broadbent gave a speech at Queen's University outlining why electoral reform and specifically proportional representation is necessary for Canada. You can read the notes from his speech at: http://www.edbroadbent.ca/en/abouted/publications/electoral_reform.htm.

As a quick update, the long anticipated Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs report on electoral reform was tabled on June 16th. You can read the report by visiting: http://www.edbroadbent.ca/en/abouted/latestnews.php#entry917. Ed Broadbent has been championing this issue from the beginning, and is delighted that the committee agreed to maintain the spirit of his original motion contained in this report.

Again, thank you for writing me on this important matter. Please accept my continued best wishes for you and yours.

Sincerely,

Jack Layton, MP (Toronto-Danforth)
Leader, Canada’s New Democrats

RE: Get Candidates to tal

I've gotten responses from everybody but Conservatives not just during the election, but when the House is sitting as well.

When I e-mailed my local Conservative candidate about a hog plant that's going in here, something which she handed out pamphlets opposing, her only response was to have some low-level volunteer call me and ask if I would help with their campaign. The volunteer had no idea what the questions I had asked were and seemed distraught when I asked to speak to her boss because I wanted to know the Conservative party position on the hog plant, not the local candidate's.

The hog plant is something that needs to be hated. Putting a slaughter and rendering facility that size into an area surrounded by residential housing is an idea that only Sam Katz could come up with.

The reason I was contacting the Conservative candidate about it was that when I tried to contact the Conservative party about it they refused to respond. I e-mailed Harper and I e-mailed Vic Toews. Nothing came back.

Well I doubt the conservatives would be against a busisness moving into the community.

Man a hog plant I can't even imagine what it would look like. lol.

It isn't the look I'm concerned about. It the smell, the threat to water quality, and the fact that at least 100 semis full of pigs will be on the the two lane highway that leads to my neighbourhood that bothers me.

Bill Blaikie, NDP, was out at the protest with us. The Conservative was handing out pamphlets. The Greens (not sure if they actually have a candidate here yet) were there with signs. The Liberals were nowhere to be seen.

I personally like Bill Blaikie, he's done many good things in this parliment and for the NDP. I would most likely stick with him as I'm sure the corporate interests of the CPC would over come the populist move.

There was never any question of me not sticking with him, Finder. I had his sign out of the shed and up on the lawn as soon as the election was called.

I did want to know where the Conservatives stand on the issue though. Their candidate is not a factor because she won't get elected, but the barns the hogs will come from are mostly in Conservative ridings.

I wrote to our Conservative MP Harris twice , he never even acknowledged my letters. Maybe because he didn't agree with what I was saying. The man is a useless twit. Hopefully we can vote him out of office this election. Previously to Harris we had a very good Conservative MP, he actually tried to do everything he could for his constituants. Then our riding was gerrymandered, and Mayfield retired and presto Prince George gave us this Dick Harris!
