Generation Y-ers may be having a tough time finding jobs but that that isn’t stopping them from buying Lanvin bags and Burberry Prorsum trenchcoats.

Those born after 1983 are driving sales in Canada’s luxury sector, according to data on spending habits released Tuesday from American Express Canada.

The data, collected between 2009 and 2011, found the Generation Y group has been the key force for luxury market growth in this country, boosting fashion spending by 33% between 2009 and 2011, travel spending by 74%, and fine dining spending by 102%.

I think our friend becomes moody when his threads get knocked down the viewing ladder.

The next step is his corporate team-leader 'we speak'. We need to, could do, this or we should do that to straighten out all the bad non-fuzzy threads. But thankfully he seems to have a sense of ha-ha about the place so shouldn't become too big of a problem.

Kind of reminds me of my room mate. He buys the most expensive clothes but refuses to invest in a bed. He's been sleeping on the floor for two years.

On the floor as in really flat on the floor, or as in some kind of camping mat at least?

Flat on the floor. I dont get why he does it. He's extremely cheap with some things and over indulges in others.

I did sleep on a camping mat until not long before I got married. I just didn't care, not to mention it was so easy to store it and clean "under the bed".
