G20 Speakers to Gather in Seoul for Talks on Global Issues
Parliamentary heads of the Group of 20 nations will gather in Seoul later this week for the G20 Speakers' Consultation hosted by Korea's National Assembly.
During the three-day forum set to kick off on Wednesday, the parliamentarians as well as some representatives of non-G20 countries will discuss possible countermeasures against terrorist attacks and natural disasters.
National Assembly Speaker Park Hee-tae pledged last week to boost inter-governmental discussions so that the meeting can truly contribute to resolving global issues.
The meeting will be the second of its kind following one in Ottawa, Canada last year.
