Well, sometimes they are, I guess. Les says some of the European countries can come up with some awesome teams, too, though. I tend to agree with him as so many NHL players seem to come from Europe. lol (For thebig money, I suppose, so I agree with you about that, alright)
I can't get too excited about hockey, though. My game is football. (The REAL football where feet actually touch the ball and touching the ball with hands is only for the goalie).
When I said the NHL are the best in the world, that includes all of the europeans, and russians along with the americans and canadians, many of
the europeans and russians also play on our junior teams.
I think the primary reason is more entertainment choices. Sports is entertainment. The more competition you have, the less demand there will be for the product.
Plus, Major League Baseball is just beyond stupid for scheduling the World Series to start at 9pm. The first pitch isn't until 9:15 and the games end after midnight. What kid in the east is going to stay up to watch that?

Those guys have skill, but UFC is barroom brawling slightly refined. Disgusting. But those martial arts suck anyway because they are judgement sports which taint them in my mind. The only thing UFC has going for it is the tap out, the athletes not judges decide the outcome.
All UFXwea are doing is punching each other with as few rules as possible. Then rolling and continuing. Thrill.
UFC reminds me of seeing a guy and girl going at it hot and heavy on the floor and just before they have sex they are caught, and someone says, "He fuqks the same way he fights".
