Hi!
I'm new here and my name is Magnus I'm living in Sweden and i have some questions.

I wonder if it is possible to get a job as Swedish in Canada Fort McMurray as a welder, oil rig worker, hardworking job?.
What is the easiest way? Apply from Sweden or just show up? like an vacation
for a month or so and look for a job and apartment
Do i need some special education? can i get it in Alberta, how long is it?
I'm willing to work hard and allot, here in Sweden i have an welder eduction
and work experience. I have (stilldo) work in shifts as an mig/mag welder
for 18 years 40h/week almost never sick and employee at Volvo Truck Company AB but
the salary is not near what it is in Fort McMurray, as i understand.
I earn about 50K CAD a year before tax and after tax ~30K here in Sweden with 18years experience :(

edit
I'm 36 and have driving licence for car

Thx in advance and sorry about my bad English typing

Magnus, probably the best thing for you to do would be to talk to some of the companies in Fort McMurray and ask them what is required for you to move to Canada and work. I don't have any links because I do not work in Fort Mcmurray or the trades however if you search some of the other messages posted here there are some links to companies. If you are an experienced welder my guess is they would help you move here or at the least should be able to tell you what is required. They are always looking for experienced welders and I would guess the pay is quite good.

Your typing and English are fine by the way.

I played in Fort Mac in 1982 and didn't I run into a guy who I knew as a kid who lived behind me in Ontario. Hadn't seen him for over 10 years at the time.
I almost quit the band to work at Suncor, the wages and incentives were so attractive!
