Some peculiarities about free choice deserve mention.

Why are free will choices judged and granted at the time they are, and not everytime.?
Why must there be an element of influence before a decision is made in favor or against the individual by his decision.?

A typical scenerio we have all heard is lust. Satan(or nature) tempts a guy, who had in place a libido, that itself was influenced by hormones, etc, etc, and now finally he's got the hots for a cute lady. He made the free will decision to go along with it instead of fighting Satan/nature, and now he's sinned. Influence: Satan/nature Decision: he makes a move on her. Judgement:guilty

For instance an anology.

I am told by a superior that he doesn't want me to misuse privledge X by using it for (a), and I should be cautious about falling into (b) with it, (c)(d)etc, etc. Now when X is assigned to me, I say no thanks, I make an antecedant free will choice prior to being tested and I sacrifice(important key word) X, and that I'll pass on it. Now I suppose my superior is caught in a predicament, as he was counting on having the pleasure of testing me out on it. So now he needs to make a decision, so he ignores my request in order that I pass through the test grinder.

Here in that case I am no longer completely culpable for any misbehaviour of abusing my X privledge, as I didn't want it anyway. In other words I made a free will choice to not have the X privledge, no temptation involved, all in the planning stage. I decide this on the grounds of my superior's advice that "If your eye is your downfall , gouge it out and cast it from you."Mat 18,9*, casting out by free will my privledge of having it. So the paradox really lays in the lap of my supervisor, not me.

More to the case, for example one day I learn that there are more people going to hell for sins of the flesh. Now I need to make a painful sacrifice, after much thought and tearing in anguish, I decide that I no longer want the sexual component of my natural state. At this moment if there is any substance or truth to * above, my libido should flat line, and testosterone level should nosedive (not really, the army tried saltpeter on us enlistees in the service, and unknowst to them, in my case it would bankrupt the Army, as it requires barrels of the stuff to work. :laughing8:.) So one can almost imagine the celestial grand plan of things going awry, and there is a mad scramble to plug up escape clauses lest there be no one else to test.

I could just as well in another context ask the government to assist me by revoking my rights to gun possession privledges if that is one of my weak spots. That is a good thing also, not an evil one. And of course we have cases of Alcohol(or any) dependancy where people are asked to help out by not having the substance present at a certain function, etc.

Your thoughts?
